Faculty Position in Geotechnical Engineering and Geomechanics

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado-Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Geotechnical Engineering and Geomechanics (GEGM). All ranks will be considered but priority will be given to the Assistant Professor level. The search is open to all specializations in geotechnical engineering and geomechanics. The new faculty member is expected to add to or complement our existing strength in computational geomechanics, constitutive modeling, experimental soil mechanics, soil dynamics and vibrations, geotechnical earthquake engineering, rock mechanics and geotechnical centrifuge modeling.

Successful candidates are expected to possess strong fundamentals, be able to develop a rigorous research program, teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and contribute to departmental, campus and professional service. Collaborations with faculty in GEGM and other programs in the Department as well as the College and University, and capabilities in interdisciplinary research in engineering science, geoenvironmental engineering and others are welcome.
